This is genius. We need more UWEC things like this on the internet and I'll be sure to push this to all my friends. Way to go!

During the noon hours, on the lower-campus cafeteria, the woman that swipes cards is extremely rude. I believe her name is Becky. When I first went to the cafeteria and handed her my blugold I said, “meal plan.” She snapped at me and said, “Say a number.” I was confused because of all the times I had been on upper-campus they had never asked me for the number of my meal plan. I told her it was fourteen then she swiped my card. She told me that I need to know my number. I was curious so I asked the workers on the upper-campus cafeteria and they told me that the number didn’t matter. I have gone to lower-campus when she was not working and said meal plan and they have swiped my card. Another example, a friend of mine always said transfer on upper-campus so when she went to lower-campus and that is what she would say. Becky would not swipe her card because she would not say a number. She just kept telling my friend to say a number finally my friends said seven even though she had a fourteen mean plan. The next time she said twenty-three. Each time Becky swiped the card proving to me that the number does not matter and that Becky was just on a power trip. Every time my friend goes to the lower-campus cafeteria she is always greeted with a scowl from Becky just because she will not say a number that doesn’t matter. My friends and I have stopped eating at the lower-campus Cafeteria because of Becky. Every other cafeteria worker I have encountered seems to be respectful. I have talked to other students about this and people know her ask the mean card swiping lady. So this is not just a small group of people.

I totally agree about this Becky woman. She's never happy about me using cash or check. Just because I don't have $ on a card doesn't and shouldn't mean my money isn't good there. She's always aggravated to have to give me change or count my $. As long as these are accepted forms of payment, she should politely take these forms of payment.

Thanks for having this feedback site. I would like to advocate for an expansion of Dulany. It has become the hot spot on campus and is GREAT! I bet you could double the seats and it would still fill.

I would also like to see it opened occasionally over the summer. There ARE people who work here over the summer, too, and we get tired of the salad bar and food court options. Maybe you can test it out, advertise it being open, and see if it flies?

Finally, kudos to Steve in the Davies food court. Always polite and professional.

Thanks for the comment regarding Davies, we heard you and for a trial period, we will have Delany open from June 9th to June to June 27th. Please come by and sample our summer menus.

I was bored and I was looking at the university's website and I found that we had this blog for dining (which is REALLY COOL!!!). I was reading through the past blogs and the ones here about Becky caught my attention. I've had problems with her in the past too and so have many of my friends. I've simply decided not to eat in the cafeteria anymore. I buy food from the little grocery store in Hilltop and I bring that back to my dorm instead. I think Becky is very "choosy" with who she likes to be nice to. I have seen her be nice to a few people here and there. But for the most part, she can come off being mean and rude. My friend said he went to eat at the cafeteria with another friend who was using cash to pay. So instead of just taking the cash, Becky swiped my friend's card twice and said, "He'll pay you back." I don't think this is appropriate. I would assume that cashiers knew how to handle cash. I guess I haven't been to the cafeteria in a while so I can't really say if Becky is still mean or if she's improved. But I hope students are happier eating there.
